Animal Profiles

Scaly, Slithery, and Surprising Guests

Ball Python

Ball pythons come in over 4,000 color and pattern morphs, making them one of the most diverse-looking snakes in the world!

Rosy Boa

Rosy boas are one of the slowest-moving snakes in the world, relying on stealth rather than speed to capture prey!

Russian Tortoise

On average, Russian tortoises will hibernate for about 2 to 5 months throughout the year. They can even spend up to 9 months of the year in dormancy due to harsh winters.

Sulcata Tortoise

Sulcata tortoises grow quickly in their first 5 years and grow to be 100-200 pounds on average!

American Alligator

There are only 2 species of Alligator in the world. The American Alligator is larger than the Chinese Alligator, growing to be up to 1,000 pounds!

Burmese Python

Burmese pythons are excellent swimmers and can stay submerged for up to 30 minutes without surfacing for air!

Argentine Tegu

Argentine tegus are one of the few lizard species capable of raising their body temperature during breeding season, a rare trait among reptiles!

Tarantula

Tarantulas don’t have teeth — they liquefy their food with digestive enzymes before sucking it up!
