Prehistoric Pets began in 1988 as Pet Country, with a mission to provide both traditional and exotic pets to the community. As our customer base and passion for reptiles grew, we expanded our offerings to include immersive educational experiences that showcase reptiles from around the world.

In 1997, we launched Jurassic Parties, created to foster public understanding and appreciation for reptiles through fun, hands-on, and educational events.

By 2009, we introduced The Reptile Zoo, an innovative attraction designed by founder Jay Brewer. Built on the “build it and they will come” philosophy, it quickly became a one-of-a-kind destination where visitors could observe rare and exotic reptiles—many of which aren’t even found in major zoos.
