Q. What are the differences between the different party packages?

A. The basic packages are as follows:

Standard Birthday *$200.00

This party package comes with an hour presentation at your residence. The presentation is a hands on and educational experience with 10-15 animals including snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. Don’t forget to bring your camera because this presentation is filled with once in a lifetime photo opportunities with our various exotic animals!

Deluxe In-Home *$325.00

This two hour party package comes with an extended 90 minute hands-on educational presentation with 15-20 animals including snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. And don’t forget to bring your camera because this presentation is filled with once in a lifetime photos plus a 30 minute period for personalized opportunities both as a group and individual poses for each of your guests with our various exotic animals!

Classroom Presentation *$225.00

This party package comes with an hour presentation at your school or classroom. The presentation is specialized to focus on the educational and environmental aspect of these exotic animals, around 10-15 different types, from all around the world including various snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. These presentations are made for smaller groups of, up to 30, people so that each person will be able to be involved in the hands-on aspect of the show. The more students at the presentation the less hands-on time available, so please plan ahead and to choose the correct presentation for the amount of students attending.

Assembly Presentation *$375.00

This presentation is made for larger groups of students and comes with a one hour presentation which is specialized to focus on the educational and environmental aspect of these exotic animals, around 12-18 different types, from all around the world including various snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs, etc. To involve each student, this presentation ends with a 20 minute hands-on time with one animal as students leave.

Split Assembly Presentation *$575.00

This presentation is made for larger groups of students, which can then be cut into two smaller groups, each with a one hour presentation which is specialized to focus on the educational and environmental aspect of these exotic animals, around 12-18 different types, from all around the world including various snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs, etc. To involve each student, each presentation ends with a 20 minute hands-on time with one animal as students leave.

Special Event/ Carnival Basic *$600.00

This package includes a small booth for 3 hours with 8 small display cages, 1 animals for handling, and 1 handler.Table, chair, covering for the shade, and easy access for set-up and tear down will need to be provided by the host.

Special Event/ Carnival *$1000.00

If you are thinking of doing something bigger this package includes our themed booth for 4 hours with 3 six-foot cages for large animals, 8 smaller display cages, 2 animals for handling, pop-up canopy, table, and 2 handlers. This package is made for any type of special event, with customizable options available.

Field Trip/Tour **$200.00 This party package includes admission to Prehistoric Pets:The Reptile Zoo for 25 guests (adults and children)as well as a private hour presentation. The presentation is a hands on and educational experience with 10-15 animals including snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. Don’t forget to bring your camera because this presentation is filled with once in a lifetime photo opportunities with our various exotic animals! This package is only available Monday-Friday.

The Reptile Zoo Birthday **$250.00 Have your birthday party here at Prehistoric Pets: The Reptile Zoo which, includes admission to The Reptile Zoo for 25 guests(adults and children), an hour presentation and an hour in either the Congo or Amazon Room, your private party area. The presentation is hands on and educational with 10-15 animals including snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. Don’t forget to bring your camera because this presentation is filled with once in a lifetime photo opportunities both as a group and special individual poses with our various exotic animals!

Deluxe Double Room Party **$1000.00 Have your birthday party here at Prehistoric Pets: The Reptile Zoo which, includes admission to The Reptile Zoo for 60 guests(adults and children), an 1.5 presentation and 1.5 hours in both the Congo and Amazon Room, your private party areas. The presentation is hands on and educational (seats 40 guests) with 12-18 animals including snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. Don’t forget to bring your camera because this presentation is filled with once in a lifetime photo opportunities both as a group and special individual poses for each guest with our various exotic animals!

The Reptile Zoo Private Party **$1500.00 Have your birthday party here at Prehistoric Pets: The Reptile Zoo after hours! This package includes admission to The Reptile Zoo for 80 guests (adults and children), 2 hosts from The Reptile Zoo, an hour presentation, an hour personalized option and private access to the entire Reptile Zoo for 3 hours. The presentation is hands on and educational with 12-18 animals including snakes, frogs, lizards, bugs etc. Each private party also includes an hour of your own personalized option, custom tour, personalized photos for each guest, whatever you want to see at The Reptile Zoo. Don’t forget to bring your camera because this party is filled with once in a lifetime photo opportunities with our various exotic animals!

**Any additional guest (child or adult) over the included amount will be $5 each.

Q. What kinds of animals do you bring to the standard party?

A.We bring 10-15 different reptiles including snakes, frogs, lizards, tarantulas, geckos, and scorpions of all different sizes. The exact animals can not be guaranteed as they vary per presenter. Possible animals include: Bull Snake,Pixie Frog, Leopard Gecko, Kingsnake, Milksnake, Cornsnake, Ball Python, Bearded Dragon, Emperor Scorpion, Savannah Monitor, Burmese Python, and Sulcatta Tortoise.

Q. Are any of these animals poisonous or dangerous?

A. We bring a scorpion and a tarantula to each party, which each have a small amount of poison like a bee sting. But we bring these specific animals because they are known to be very tame and docile making them also very good with children. If we feel like a certain animal is not acting right or could be a danger to the guests they will not be involved with that presentation. If you are still worried about the scorpion or tarantula you can request that they are not shown.

Q. What do we need to have for the presenter at our house?

A. Our presenter will come with all he or she will need for the presentations. The only thing that we ask is that you have already planned where you want the presentation with enough room for all of the children to sit and be comfortable for an hour. Both inside and outside presentations are fine, but outside is preferred.

Q. What do we need to bring for our party at your store?

A. At our in-store parties we provide the presentation and room. Anything else is optional and needs to be brought by you. Most of our guests bring: utensils, paper goods, cake, pizza, miscellaneous snacks, party favors, table cloths, and extra decorations. In the Amazon Room there are 2 six foot tables for food and gifts and 2 eight foot tables for seating and in the Congo Room there are 3 six foot tables for seating and 1 for serving.

Q. Do I need to be worried about salmonella or bacteria from the reptiles in the presentation?

A. These animals, especially tortoises, can carry these diseases although it is very uncommon. If you are sure to wash your hands after the presentation and not eat while touching the animals, as our presenter will remind you, there should not be a problem. At our Jurassic Parties and at our retail store, Prehistoric Pets, we have never had an issue with salmonella.

Q. What is the best age to have a Jurassic Party at?

A. Our parties are fun and educational for children of all ages including adults. Although we believe the guests will get the most out of the presentation at ages older than 5 because they are more attentive and able to pay attention for the given amount of time.

Q. Are there any special packages I can put together to make my event special?

For parties at The Reptile Zoo we have opportunities for purchasing mealworms for the guests so they can feed the fish in our 2,000 gallon pond. We also have "Prehistoric" themed party favors available for purchase.

Q. Are Jurassic Parties only for birthday parties? If not can I have them come to my school, business party, or special event?

A. Jurassic Parties can turn any event into an unforgettable experience. We very commonly do presentations for schools, cub scouts, churches, daycares, company parties, fairs, expos, and other special events. Because of the nature of theses presentations they require special preparation and planning so please give us a call or email so that we can plan your next special event.

Q. What are we not allowed to bring to our In-Store parties?

A. We do not allow piñatas and alcohol at our parties. Anything else that might be questionable please feel free to call or e-mail us.

Q. What happens if it rains on the day of my In-Home party?

A. The best thing to do in case of rain is to move the party to an enclosed area. Garages and covered patios work best for this. If it is necessary to move the party inside of your house and you are still worried about your carpet putting sheets or blankets on the floor work good as a covering.

Q. Can we have our presentation at a park?

A. Most parks are fine with having one of our presentations there especially community parks and smaller city parks. We suggest that you check with the park on their rules before booking the party so you do not loose your deposit if the park does not allow it. Finding out about the parks rules and regulations is your responsibility so please make sure you have all of the correct information before booking. Larger regional parks usually require a proof of insurance which we will happily get for you. If the park or city requires listing as additionally insured a $50 charge will be added for paperwork and processing. Please give us enough time in advance to comply with any special requests so you do not end up with any problems with the park.

Q. Do you have insurance?

A. We have been licensed and insured for 20 years and carry a $1,000,000 liability policy. If you have any questions or need proof of insurance please feel free to call or e-mail us.

Q. How many people can I have at the presentation?

A. The optimal amount of guest at a party is between 15-20 guests. This allows enough time for each person to get involved in the hands on aspect of the presentation. We can accommodate for more or less guests as is needed. To keep the hands on feel of the presentation in a one hour presentation we suggest keeping the number of guests to 30 and below. If you are planning on having more guests than this we suggest either having a 2 hour Deluxe Party for a birthday or a Split Assembly, which includes two 1 hour presentations and 20 minute hands-on sessions, at your school.

Q. Are tips customary or required?

A. Most of our customers leave tips for the presenters but they are not necessary. We suggest that you give a tip as you feel the presenter deserves tips can range all of the way from a soda to $200, but the average tip is about $25.

Q. When do I pay for my party and how?

A. The final payment is usually taken care of at the end of your presentation. The presenter will give you a receipt to fill out and you can then choose your form of payment. For a party at your location we can take both check and cash. At Prehistoric Pets: The Reptile Zoo you can also pay by credit card. If you would like to pay by credit card for a presentation at your location the payment must be complete within 24 hours of your party start time.
